ABOUT

Michael Pappas
Weaving Heritage into Contemporary Greece

Michael Pappas is a Greek photographer and visual storyteller exploring the relationship between identity, tradition, and contemporary culture.

Through his ongoing Mitos Project, he creates concept-driven imagery that reinterprets Greek heritage through a modern visual language. His work moves between documentation and construction, using symbolism and staged elements to reveal deeper layers of cultural memory.

His photographs have been exhibited internationally and recognized by leading institutions, reflecting a growing dialogue between tradition and contemporary visual expression.

At the core of his practice lies a simple intention: to create images that offer meaning, coherence, and a sense of connection in an increasingly fragmented world.

Statement

Through my work, I aim to offer a visual testimony to the enduring legacy and evolving spirit of Greek womanhood and cultural identity.
Photography, for me, is not only a medium of representation but a vessel of continuity, a way to remember, to reinterpret, and to reimagine who we are.

Tradition is my language. Photography is my voice. Together, they tell the story of a living Greece.
